What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that translates to 'Universal/ Life Force Energy' (also known as Chi, Qi or Prana). Reiki is a safe and gentle form of energy healing that activates the body’s relaxation response, helping you find balance on a deep level. Reiki has been shown to induce deep relaxation, reduce anxiety & depression and improve overall self esteem and quality of life - it is also increasingly being offered as a complementary therapy in hospitals around the world!
Reiki works on every level - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - to improve the flow of energy throughout the body, balancing the chakras (main energy centers of the body) and shifting any 'stuck' energy that can lead to fatigue, emotional distress and even illness. Reiki is a beautiful way to experience deep relaxation, find relief from stress & anxiety and get back in touch with your true self!
What Should I Expect During My Session?
At the beginning of your session, we will have a brief chat about what has brought you in I can answer any questions you may have.
When we are ready to start the healing, I will ask you to lie down on the healing table comfortably and fully clothed, allowing the soothing music help you drift off into relaxation.
Throughout the session, I tune into your energy field and work to release any blockages or stagnant energy, sending Reiki Energy to these areas instead. Sessions include a combination of Traditional Usui Reiki, Kundalini Reiki, Crystal Healing, Chakra Balancing and Intuitive Energy Healing.
During this time, you may fall into a meditative state or experience a general sense of calmness; a variety of emotions or sensations may also be experienced, such as heat, lightness or vibrations.
Once your energy has been cleared and balanced, I will gently wake you, and relay any intuitive guidance and recommendations relevant to your healing session.

These are some of the common things I hear following a Reiki Session. Each person's experience with the energy is different, and sensations will also vary according to what chakras might be blocked, or where the flow of energy has been stagnating. You may even feel nothing at all and that is completely ok! Your experience is your own.
If you do feel the energy, it may be very subtle - you may feel a gentle pulsing sensation even when my hands are not in contact with your body, you may also experience heat coming from my hands. Many people report falling into a meditative state, where they are simultaneously conscious but also deeply in-drawn. A Reiki Healing will allow you to release stress and emotional burdens, bringing deep relaxation, clarity and hope.
How often should I receive Reiki?
If you are feeling stressed, emotional or out of balance and your energy system & chakras are quite blocked, I do recommend a few regular sessions, weekly or fortnightly is best (I also offer multi-session packages for this reason). My sessions work to gently peel away, layer by layer, built-up heavy emotions, stress and trauma that may be stopping you from feeling calm and keeping you from being your true amazing self!
Receiving multiple Energy Healing sessions provides deeper balancing & longer-lasting benefits. You may also start to notice other changes in your life, such as improved sleep & digestion, feeling more grounded, centered & less reactive, as well as increased self-awareness & stronger intuition.
When you are feeling much lighter & balanced, it is up to you if you would like to come in regularly (i.e. monthly or quarterly) to maintain this balance and energy flow, this will also depend on your everyday life and whether you engage in daily energy balancing techniques such as meditation, yoga, tai chi etc. Alternatively you may like to come in for an Energy Healing whenever your intuition calls you, I always recommend trusting that inner guidance :)
